What information about customers does The Bear's Lair collect?
The Bear's Lair collects statical information on the site usage and the information entered when placing an order online or over the phone. No credit card information is stored. Site use statistics include number of visitors, number of pages visited, and where visitors are coming from. These statistics help us improve the site. No effort is made to track users individually.
Does The Bear's Lair share any customer information?
We value customers and their privacy. Some of our items ship directly from the manufacturer. Third parties may recieve customer information only if an item will be shipped directly from the manufacturer to the customer. Only the information required to perform the mail drop will be given the the party sending the item. We do not sell or lease customer information to anyone. We will, if necessary, release account or personal information when we feel it is necessary to comply with the law.
How secure is my personal information when I make a transaction at The Bear's Lair?
The Bear's Lair uses industry-standard encrypted Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to protect sensitive information (i.e. your credit card number, address, etc.) you provide during the order process. On site pages where you enter this data, you may notice that the URL in your Web browser begins with https:// rather than http:// which indicates you're on a secure page of our Web site.
If you are using Internet Explorer or Mozilla, there will be a lock icon at the bottom of your browser as well. As an added means of security, we will never include any credit card information in your order confirmation email or any other emails we may send to you. Standard email is not encrypted and is not considered a secure means of transmitting credit card numbers.
I do not want to submit ANY of my credit card information on the Internet, but I want to purchase something from The Bear's Lair. What other options are there?
